Computer Lab Rules

The Computer Lab Rules (CLR) addresses Basic Rules, Equipment, Appropriate Use, and Inappropriate Uses in our Computer Multimedia Animation Technology (CMAT) and Engineering Principles (EP) courses. Each student will sign a contract acknowledging that they understand these responsibilities. Their parents must sign off the contract in order for the student to participate in the CMAT and EP courses.

Basic Rules
1. Follow all School Rules.
2. Follow individual teacher's rules.
3. Sit in assigned seat as per teacher's seating chart. Do not switch computer workstations without permission. IMPORTANT: Sit in your assigned seats or you'll be counted absent.
4. No "horseplay".
5. No interruption of work, whether with messages, loud noises done on the computer, or other sources of interruption.
6. Use courtesy at all times.

Equipment
7. Equipment will be treated with ultimate care - students will not vandalized equipment {including but not limited to: removing keycaps, removing mouse balls, marking on desks or equipment, hitting the keyboard repeatedly, etc.}
8. The teacher must approve all outside disks and software before use.
9. Clean up your computer workstation area before leaving {including: picking up trash, putting away materials, etc.}
10. Push chairs under desks before leaving.
11. Students are not allowed to modify desktop or laptop settings including screensavers and backgrounds.
12. Students are not allowed to turn off desktop computers unless instructed by Ms. Angela Warr.
13. No food or drink allowed in the lab.
14. No games may be played on the computers.
15. Students are not allowed to participate in any chat rooms or groups accessed on the Internet.
16. Students should not be left alone in a computer lab without proper supervision.

Appropriate Use
You will be responsible at all times for the proper use of your account and the District may suspend or revoke your access if you violate these rules.

Inappropriate Uses
1. Using the system for any illegal purpose.
2. Accessing another's account.
3. Posting personal messages and information about yourself or others.
4. Posting messages or accessing materials that are abusive, obscene, sexually oriented, threatening, harassing, damaging to another's reputation, or illegal.
5. Wasting school resources through the improper use of the computer system.
6. Gaining unauthorized access to restricted information or resources.

If you have any questions about these rules, please contact Ms. Angela Warr. Please sign the contract acknowledging that you understand these responsibilities. Your parent or guardian must sign off on this form in order for you to participate in the CMAT or EP computer classes.

Each student must return the signed form with their signature and the signature of their parent/guardian to Ms. Angela Warr.
